Daily Directive: 071224

Schedule your social media posts for next week. Instructions here.

Start the Golden Hour with your Daily Marketing Task (as at the top of this screen.)

Use the rest of the hour to work on your Simple Six project (or another project, assigned by your mentor.)

Complete the Simple Six projects in this order: ARM, then Clients (HEAD), and then LEG.

Work each project all the way through to completion before moving to the next.

When you’ve completed your ARM, HEAD and LEG projects, give yourself a raise (usually 6%).

For example, if the list below was my SixStorm for a landscaping / lawn care company, I’d first select ONE tactic for each metric (ARM, LEG and HEAD). I’ve highlighted those in bold.

ARM ideas
  1. Premium Packages: Introduce premium service packages that include comprehensive lawn care, landscaping design, and seasonal clean-ups.
  2. Seasonal Pricing: Implement seasonal pricing for peak times, such as spring and fall, when demand for lawn care services is higher.
  3. Add-ons: Offer add-on services such as fertilization, pest control, aeration, and overseeding.
  4. Retail Products: Sell high-quality lawn care products, including fertilizers, soil conditioners, and gardening tools.
  5. Express Services: Introduce express services like quick lawn mowing, leaf blowing, and minor repairs for clients who need immediate assistance.
  6. Custom Landscaping Designs: Provide custom landscaping design services, including garden planning, hardscaping, and water features.
  7. Specialty Services: Offer specialty services such as tree trimming, irrigation system installation, and outdoor lighting.
  8. VIP Services: Provide VIP services that include priority booking, extended service hours, and personalized consultations.
  9. Workshops and Classes: Host workshops and classes on topics like gardening, lawn care, and sustainable landscaping practices.
  10. Mobile Services: Provide mobile consultations and on-the-spot services for clients who need quick advice or minor adjustments.
LEG ideas
  1. Maintenance Plans: Offer regular maintenance plans that include weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly visits for lawn care and landscaping upkeep.
  2. Loyalty Program: Create a loyalty program where clients earn points for each service, redeemable for discounts or free services.
  3. Seasonal Decorations: Offer seasonal decoration services, such as holiday lighting, fall displays, and spring plantings.
  4. Online Booking System: Implement an advanced online booking system that allows clients to schedule services, view service plans, and make payments.
HEAD ideas
  1. Email Marketing: Utilize email marketing campaigns to promote special offers, new services, and seasonal discounts.
  2. Social Media Engagement: Increase engagement on social media by showcasing project highlights, client testimonials, and before-and-after photos.
  3. Partner with Local Businesses: Collaborate with local garden centers, home improvement stores, and real estate agents to offer joint promotions and referral programs.
  4. Community Events: Participate in local community events, garden shows, and home expos to promote your services and attract new clients.

I would set up my Golden Hour like this:

G – Go to a room with a door that closes.

O – Open your mind with 5 minutes of journaling.

L – Lead with the Marketing Task (15 minutes – rotates daily – see top of this post for an example).

D – Do the first Simple Six project. My first ARM project (above) is to set up Add-ons: Offer add-on services such as fertilization, pest control, aeration, and overseeding. I would set up 3 add-on services based on the services that my best clients need most often, and add those to my pricing binder and website.

E – end after an hour. This list would likely take longer than one day, so I’d keep working on it for several days until it was ready, priced, and listed as an option on my website. Then I’d move on to my first LEG project.

N – Next steps – I’d use the last 5 minutes of my Golden Hour to make a checklist for the rest of the day.

This Simple Six session started on July 8, 2024.
