This week, we’re working on the entrepreneurial skill of RESILIENCE.

While experience and longevity aren’t enough to make your business successful, there IS a learning curve–and you have to stay in the game long enough to learn and do the things that will make you successful.

We’re going to build resilience first through self-authoring.

This exercise should take up most of your Golden Hour. But if you have time left, read to this blog post on developing Skills.

Resilience Self-Authoring Exercise #1: Reflecting on a Past Challenge

Objective: To gain insight and draw strength from previous challenges.

Instructions:

  1. Select a Challenge: Think of a difficult situation in your past that was particularly challenging but from which you eventually emerged.
  2. Describe the Situation: Write a detailed account of the situation. Include what happened, how it began, the main challenges, and how you felt during the process.
  3. Analyze Your Response: Reflect on how you dealt with the situation. What actions did you take? What thoughts dominated your mind?
  4. Lessons Learned: Consider what you learned from this experience. How did it change you? What strengths did you discover about yourself?
  5. Reflect on Resilience: Identify the factors that helped you overcome this challenge. Consider traits, support from others, and personal insights.
