Project Focus: CLIENTS
This week, we’re building a social media funnel to get more clients.
Today: Make your first 5130 post.
A “5130” is a call to action post where we’re specific about the clients we want. This is the framework:
“I’m looking for 5 women in Sault Ste. Marie who want to lose 7 pounds of fat in the next 30 days. Comment below if you’re interested!”
Broken down into its components:
1 – “I’m looking for…” – this doesn’t change.
2 – “5 women in Sault Ste. Marie” – 5 people in your town
3 – “Who want to lose 7 pounds of fat” – 1 goal
4 – “In the next 30 days.” – something you can do for them within 30 days
5 – “Comment below!” – a clear call to action.
That’s the 5130: 5 people with 1 goal in the next 30 days.
The key is to focus on the benefit of what you’re selling instead of the features. In the example above, the benefit is losing 7 pounds of fat. Some gym owners and trainers mess up their 5130 post by talking about the features instead of the benefits to the client. For example, they might say “I’m looking for 5 women in Sault Ste. Marie who want to do personal training.” But nobody’s out there looking to start doing personal training – they’re looking to lose weight. Personal training is how you’ll get them there, but they don’t care about that. You must look at your service through the eyes of the client’s goal instead of the methods or features or tools you’re using.
For example, a tire change business might say:
“I’m looking for 5 people who need to get their winter tires removed before Friday!”
They wouldn’t say:
“I’m looking for 5 people who want to use a Snap-On brand lug wrench to change their tires!” Because nobody cares about the tools, only the result.
In future, you want to do a 5130 post every month. You can use the same one or tweak it if it’s not working. But start with the very basic instead of trying to get too fancy. Stick with 5 people instead of being too broad (“I’m looking for anyone who wants to…”) Stick with a short timeline instead of some long-term promise (“I’m looking for 5 people who want to change their life”) and stick with one goal instead of the method you’ll use (“I’m looking for 5 people who want to do CrossFit.”)
